Yes. Your dependents can go for a H4 visa stamping provided you (primary h1 beneficiary) were always in status. (which from your post looks like you were)
You will have to send your paystubs, latest h1 approval notice etc - with your family for the
h4 visa interview.

As everybody knows by now, recently Arizona's Governor signed a law requiring local law enforcement officials to take into custody persons when they have a "reasonable suspicion" that they are present in the U.S. illegally. The person would be turned over to the Immigration Service, and be released from jail if they could demonstrate their legal status. My EAD was about to expire in 4 months. I'm going to apply for the renewal. Can I keep working if the application is pending?
You can work as long as the EAD is valid. If you meant to ask if you can legally work while your old EAD has expired and your new EAD is pending, the answer is NO.
One more thing, the USCIS is required by law to make decision on your EAD application withing 90 days upon receiving your application. But someone didn't get that within 90 days. That casused problem bacause you can only apply for renewal of your EAD if it is 90 days or less before your old EAD will expire.

I am a Canadian in the "Approved I-140, waiting for 485 Limbo" status. I have a prority date of March, 2004. I find IV a good source of both information and encouragement and I would like to know there are others near me who feel the same. Hope to hear from you soon?

I have been in H-1B status for 4+ years. This year, I started attending full time college and had applied for transfer of status from H-1B to F-1. However, my application is still pending with USCIS. Since I need to travel home urgently, I was wondering what steps should I take before leaving so that my status is not affected. Because if I travel abroad, I will be applying for new F-1 at a US consulate, do I need to cancel my application with USCIS here before leaving? Are there any consequences of keeping my application pending here.
